Swiss death-metal band Conjonctive is set to release their latest album, Misère de Poussière, on November 22nd, 2024. Formed in 2007 in Nyon, Switzerland, the band made a strong debut with Until The Whole World Dies in 2013, which quickly established them as a force in the Swiss metal scene. Their relentless touring and the success of their single “Somnambulant Cannibal,” which won two M4Music awards in 2014, helped solidify their reputation.
In 2017, Conjonctive followed up with their sophomore album In The Mouth of the Devil, a darker and more technically complex release. This album demonstrated the band’s evolving sound and dedication to honing their craft, drawing attention from the international metal community. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Vladimir Cochet at Conatus Studios, the album further pushed the band’s name beyond Swiss borders.
Now, after a seven-year break between albums, Conjonctive returns with Misère de Poussière. The long gap came partly due to the band’s hiatus in 2019-2020 and significant lineup changes. One notable addition to the group is drummer Guido Wyss, whose technical ability and intensity have pushed the band’s sound to new levels of aggression.
Misère de Poussière promises to be Conjonctive's most brutal and raw release to date. The band has taken a stripped-down approach to production, avoiding samples to deliver a more old-school death-metal experience. Fans of the genre can expect an album packed with unrelenting riffs, crushing drums, and the gritty energy that has always been at the heart of Conjonctive’s sound.
Conjonctive embodies the raw intensity that makes death metal so compelling, combining brutal riffs with technical precision. Their ability to evolve while staying true to the genre’s core gives them a lasting edge in a scene that thrives on aggression and authenticity. Self-released and coming out on November 22nd, Misère de Poussière is set to bring Conjonctive back to the forefront of the death-metal scene, offering a fierce and uncompromising listen for fans of the genre.
