Greek heavy rock trio Tidal Shock is making waves with their upcoming album, Riffs of Ha, set to drop on November 16, 2024. Known for a gritty blend of heavy rock and groove, Tidal Shock has built a loyal fanbase in Greece’s renowned rock and doom scene. Now stationed in Luxembourg, the band is ready to take their sound further, backed by a recent single, “Umbra Planetae,” which brings a powerful preview of their new record.
Tidal Shock’s journey began in 2018 on the Greek island of Crete, where members Alex, Beppe, and George bonded over their love for loud, fuzzy rock. Their debut EP, Black Hole Genesis, released on 666Mr.Doom's YouTube channel, caught the attention of Greek heavy rock fans, setting the stage for a solid run of shows. Touring with celebrated local acts like Nightstalker and Naxatras, the band quickly became known for their deep-rooted, riff-heavy sound.
After the release of Black Hole Genesis, Tidal Shock continued developing their music, refining their style through live performances and new songwriting. Their hard-hitting live shows added new layers to their music, mixing their older songs with fresh material. The EP’s title track even gained additional visibility, landing on the “Doomed and Stoned” Bandcamp compilation, a popular spot for heavy rock enthusiasts.
Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, Tidal Shock pushed forward, relocating to Luxembourg and playing festivals alongside 1000Mods. Their time in Luxembourg allowed them to dive deeper into their craft, assembling tracks for Riffs of Ha. According to the band, the album presents an experimental twist while staying true to their heavy rock roots. With agile riffs and intricate shifts, Riffs of Ha promises an intense experience for listeners, combining Tidal Shock’s Greek influences with fresh perspectives from their time abroad.
As the release date nears, Tidal Shock is gearing up for more extensive touring, hoping to bring their fierce new sounds to audiences across Europe. With Riffs of Ha, Tidal Shock looks poised to carve out their space in the heavy rock world.
