Montreal-based garage punk trio Bambies deliver raw, energetic punk with catchy melodies and power-pop influences, and their upcoming album Snotty Angels promises 15 punchy tracks recorded in just four days.

Montreal punk trio Bambies are back with their new album Snotty Angels, which dropped this Fall. Formed in 2014, Bambies—made up of Sami (guitar/vocals), Franki (drums/vocals), and Feli (bass/vocals)—have been tearing through the scene with their energetic garage punk sound for over a decade. Their signature style blends raw punk energy with doo-wop and garage rock influences, creating something gritty yet catchy.

Originally, Bambies started out when Sami and Feli teamed up with their friend Julie on drums to make some fuzzed-out demos. After Julie’s departure, Franki joined the band, bringing not only drumming talent but also a name that fit the band's quirky rule: all members' names must have two syllables! With Franki on board, the band solidified their punk sound, releasing their first single, “Red Guitar,” in 2019.

After the success of their debut album Summer Soon, which featured songs like “Dirty Taint” and “Echo,” Bambies continued to build momentum. They toured locally around Quebec and Ontario, growing their fanbase with high-energy live shows.

In Easter 2023, Bambies returned to the studio to record Snotty Angels at Sud-Ouest Recording Service in Montreal. With producer Matt Damron, a long-time friend of the band, behind the controls, they recorded the album in just four days. The new album dives deeper into their power-pop influences while still maintaining the raw, fast-paced punk edge they’re known for.

According to Feli, the writing process for Snotty Angels didn’t stray far from their earlier work. “Sami brings most of the ideas, and we jam and develop them together.” This collaborative process, paired with the pressure of recording in a short time, gave the album its punchy, urgent feel. Packed with 15 tracks, Snotty Angels is sure to be another hit for the Montreal punks.

Bambies bring a refreshing, no-frills energy to the garage punk scene, mixing raw, fuzzy riffs with infectious melodies that stick with you. Their ability to blend gritty punk with hints of doo-wop and power-pop creates a sound that feels both nostalgic and excitingly new. The album will be available on vinyl and streaming platforms via Spaghetty Town Records in the U.S. and Wanda Records in Germany.
