The 88 is getting a lot of attention today for being the first band to record a track on an iPhone. Yes, you heard me, an iPhone. While on tour with The B52s, The 88 found an iPhone application called FourTrack which allows musicians to record music on their iPhone. When they got home, the band documented this process (http://the88.net/love.htm) and uploaded their track to iTunes.
The press response has been overwhelming - not only from a technical side but also because the song is typical The 88: catchy, fun and well written. Airing today is a nationally syndicated feature on the bands recording process for "Love Is The Thing" from tech reporter Kurt Knutssen aka Kurt The Cyber Guy.
