Celtic punkers The Rumjacks are roaring into 2025 with the announcement of their sixth studio album, Dead Anthems. Slated for release on February 7th via Australian label FOUR FOUR, the record is already generating a buzz with two powerful singles: the pro-immigrant anthem “Come Hell or High Water” and the reflective yet raucous “An Irish Goodbye on St. Valentine’s Day.” The Rumjacks share a musical kinship with Celtic punk legends like Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, blending high-octane energy, traditional Irish influences, and socially conscious themes into anthems that resonate across genres.
Recorded in the gritty heart of Asbury Park, NJ, Dead Anthems marks a collaboration between The Rumjacks' lead vocalist Mike Rivkees and renowned producer Pete Steinkopf, founding member of The Bouncing Souls. Steinkopf’s production credits include work with Beach Slang, The Menzingers, and Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem, ensuring the album’s raw energy and dynamic sound come through loud and clear.
For long-time fans of The Rumjacks, this record promises to deliver the band’s signature mix of electrifying Celtic punk infused with deeply personal storytelling. The singles showcase the band’s ability to craft music that is both hard-hitting and heartfelt. “Come Hell or High Water” champions the immigrant experience with a fiery resilience, while “An Irish Goodbye on St. Valentine’s Day” blends bittersweet nostalgia with anthemic hooks.
Alongside the album news, The Rumjacks have announced an extensive UK and European tour kicking off early next year. The band will also bring their rollicking live show to Quebec’s Red Bridge Festival in June 2025. Full tour dates are below, and pre-orders for Dead Anthems are already live.
Since forming in Sydney 17 years ago, The Rumjacks have grown into one of Celtic punk’s most vital voices. Their viral hit “An Irish Pub Song” boasts over 91 million YouTube views, but they’ve never rested on their laurels. With Dead Anthems, they’re poised to add another chapter to their legacy.
The Rumjacks prove that Celtic punk can still be both ferocious and meaningful. Their ability to weave raucous melodies with socially conscious lyrics makes them stand out in a crowded genre. If the singles are any indication, Dead Anthems is set to be one of the year’s standout punk releases. Keep this album on your radar—it’s bound to make waves.
