Zachary Kibbee releases an appealing blues/garage-rock hybrid single off his recent debut album.

Los Angeles native Zachary Kibbee is a long-standing blues-rock/garage-rock singer-songwriter and musician, first in the band Stonefeather and now as the act Zachary Kibbee with fellow musicians Gene Louis, Taylor Sullivan, and Felipe Rodrigo.  The band has been steadily gaining acclaim with the release of its Little Clocks EP and the inclusion of songs in both TV shows (Agents Of SHEILD, Rake, and Benched) and film (The Drop).  Zachary Kibbee recently delivered debut album Songs From The Mud, featuring the lead single “See Right Through You”.

“See Right Through You” treads with a deliberate pace as the bass line marches in tandem with the emphatic drum beat and dampened cymbal tap.  The occasional clap of castanets enlivens the weighty mood, along with the short, curling electric guitar lines and Kibbee’s sharply plaintive vocals.  Kibbee bemoans the fact that, “I know you’re driftin’ away / I can feel it…”  The band members kick up a notch on the stirring chorus, pushing with a bright intensity as Kibbee admonishes with emotive force, “Your secrets are behind you / They’ll bind you.”  What’s no secret is that Zachary Kibbee blends blues-rock with garage-rock to appealing effect.
