Miranda and the Beat are back with a brand-new single, “Manipulate Me,” along with an exciting music video directed by the band and Nazar Khamis. The track is the latest teaser from their upcoming album Can’t Take It, set to drop on October 25 through Ernest Jenning Record Co./Khannibalism.
“Manipulate Me” offers a mix of raw energy and garage soul, packed with bold riffs and pounding rhythms. In the video, Miranda Zipse, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, brings a sharp edge to the track with her powerful vocals, capturing the tension and release in the lyrics. The song is full of attitude and showcases the band’s signature blend of 60s garage rock, punk, and psychedelic vibes.
In a statement about the song, Miranda shared that writing “Manipulate Me” was a fun, carefree process. The band spent a lot of time laughing while they worked on it, which added to the energy of the final product. Though the track deals with some serious topics, they managed to turn it into an upbeat anthem with a rebellious spirit.
This single follows the release of the album’s title track, “Can’t Take It,” which came out last month with a video shot at a Pilates studio in Los Angeles. According to Miranda, the idea for “Can’t Take It” came from a demo shared by King Khan during their recording sessions in Germany.
Earlier this year, the band also dropped “Earthquake Water,” a track that recalls a personal story from Miranda’s childhood, giving the band’s gritty sound a personal touch.
With Can’t Take It, Miranda and the Beat continue to carve out their place in today’s rock scene, blending high-energy performances with a unique mix of influences. Keep an eye out for their album release and their upcoming show in New Orleans on October 29!
