E1 Music
Based in New York City, E1 Music, formerly KOCH Records, is a division of E1 Entertainment U.S. (formerly KOCH Entertainment), the fastest-growing music company and the market leader among independents in North America.
E1 Entertainment (AIM: ETO) acquired KOCH Entertainment in June 2005, and renamed the company E1 Music. E1 Entertainment's four primary businesses units, E1 Television, E1 Films, E1 Music and E1 Distribution, collectively represent E1's extensive expertise in film distribution, television and music production/distribution, Kids content, Licensing and Distribution.
Since its inception as KOCH Records, E1 Music has charted over 100 albums on Billboard's Independent Chart, surpassing the number of titles charted by all other U.S. independent labels. E1 Music has been the number one independent label according to Billboard for the last four years.
E1 Music has quickly grown to become North America's largest independently owned and distributed record. E1 Music covers all musical genres from adult-contemporary to rock, urban to country, children's to classical.
E1 Music also has a majority interest in the much-celebrated DRG Records, which has been a leader in Broadway cast recordings, film soundtracks, jazz and legendary cabaret performers since 1976. Recently, DRG has taken on a large scale venture in releasing long-out-of-print & first-time-on-CD releases. The label has received numerous Grammy Awards and nominations for its cast recordings and vocalists. DRG Records is a division of E1 Music.
E1 Music has assembled a strong executive team with both major and independent record label experience and has built a dedicated staff of 40 professionals. E1 Music has been able to rapidly capitalize on the widening gap between major and independent labels by catering to established talent, production companies and franchises, as well as emerging artists. E1 Music has strategically positioned itself to successfully develop and market artists which do not (or no longer want to) fit the major-label mold, but who are also beyond the operating capabilities of smaller independents.
