Love in the Fascist Brothel
Exceedingly chaotic, noisy, fast-moving, and spastic, San Diego's The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower create music that is simultaneously both challenging and danceable, as though it's undoubtedly hectic, claustrophobic, and frenetic, it still has some tremendous beats. These guys are reminiscent of other maniacal experimental/punk/hardcore bands like Sex Positions and Some Girls, as similar to these bands' outrageous output, surprises abound around every unpredictable twist and turn of 'Love in the Fascist Brothel'. Songs, for the most part, seamlessly segue into one another. A perfect example is "Angry, Young And Rich", which rocks throughout, but then is overtaken by frantic piano work that forms an uninterrupted transition directly into the following track, "Lipstick SS", which turns out to be a stellar song ヨ a seemingly unstructured, crushing cacophony of unbridled noise with raging, seriously-distorted guitars; relentless drums; and even rather tuneless, shrill horns (think FEAR's "New York's Alright if You like Saxophones"...). TPTBUTET ヨ ordinary? Hell, no! Exciting and fresh? You better believe it.
