UK alternative punk band Healthy Junkies are set to release their newest album, Listen To The Mad, on November 22, 2024, through Banana Castle Records. The band has also dropped their latest single, “Dead Souls,” along with an official video. Fans can check out the video on YouTube and stream their music on Spotify.

Formed in 2010, Healthy Junkies began when Paris native and vocalist Nina Courson moved to London and teamed up with guitarist Phil Honey-Jones. The duo bonded over their shared love for punk and rock, forming the band as a statement on the global mental health crisis. Over time, bassist Dave Whitmore and drummer Tony Alda joined, rounding out the lineup that helped the band tour extensively across the UK and Europe. Healthy Junkies have shared stages with punk and rock icons such as The Rezillos, GBH, and The Buzzcocks. They are also regular performers at festivals like Rebellion Punk Festival, where they have played yearly since 2012.

The band gained attention beyond the UK, especially after their successful West Coast U.S. tour in 2018. Their music has caught the ears of notable figures like American DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, boosting their profile and helping them gather a dedicated following in the U.S. The band’s live performances have become known for their intense energy, which has helped them build a loyal fanbase.

In 2020, drummer David Gaut joined, bringing fresh energy to the group. Healthy Junkies recorded Listen To The Mad with Jonathon Jacobs at Audiohaus Studios in London. The band describes the album as a way to express their experiences and thoughts, touching on real-life issues without being preachy.

Healthy Junkies blend the raw energy of punk with an eclectic mix of rock subgenres, making their sound both fierce and unique. Their ability to touch on real-world issues while maintaining a rebellious edge keeps them compelling in today’s alternative scene. With plans to keep performing live and an album release party at The Dublin Castle in Camden on November 20, Healthy Junkies show no signs of slowing down.
