American Motors brings a refreshing energy to post-rock, with raw, minimalistic songs that feel both powerful and introspective. J. Robbins’ production perfectly captures their intensity, giving each track a balanced mix of grit and atmosphere that leaves a lasting impact.

American Motors, a band from Columbia, Missouri, is gearing up for the release of their debut LP, Content, on October 10th. The album will be released through Expert Work Records and The Ghost Is Clear Records, two independent labels based in the Midwest. Recorded by J. Robbins, known for his work with Jawbox and Burning Airlines, Content is a raw exploration of post-rock, featuring powerful guitars, intricate rhythms, and a minimalist approach to songwriting.

The band, made up of vocalist and guitarist Dustin Travis White, drummer Alex Steward, and bassist Brad Williams, blends heavy, driving rhythms with atmospheric guitar work. The result is a sound that feels both intense and meditative, capturing the energy of early Swans and other post-punk influences. Tracks like “Colonial Lanes” and “The Former Mall Anchor Store Call Center Blues” explore themes of everyday life, presenting ordinary settings like bowling alleys and mall call centers as places of emotional depth and reflection.

The album was recorded in just five days at The Magpie Cage in Baltimore, Maryland. J. Robbins’ production highlights the band’s tight sound, balancing heavy, almost feral drumming with moments of ambient calm. Songs like “There Is a Twin” showcase the band's ability to mix raw emotion with subtle musical elements, blending post-rock and post-punk influences with a modern twist.

American Motors will be hitting the road in October to support Content, with tour dates across the Midwest and East Coast. Fans of bands like METZ, Young Widows, and other post-rock and post-punk acts will appreciate American Motors' unique sound. With their debut, they are carving out a space in the post-rock world that feels both fresh and familiar.

Content will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Fans can stream the album on SoundCloud ahead of its release and catch the band live during their upcoming tour.
