MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Embassy in Russia is verifying reports on possible arrest of a US diplomat on suspicion of drunk driving in Moscow Region,Nike Air Force One, a US Embassy spokesman said Sunday.
"We cannot confirm the report yet. We are looking into this [report]. Our policy is to encourage our diplomats to follow local laws," Will Stevens told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, a law enforcement source said that Russian police officers attempted to stop a BMW X5 car driven by an aide to the US defense attache to Russia, close to the Domodedovo airport. Though the US diplomat initially ignored the demand of police, he was later stopped in the airport parking lot.
According to the source, the police found out that the diplomat, identified as Bruce McClintock,Nike Free Kaufen, had no OSAGO mandatory insurance.
Moreover, police officers smelled alcohol on the man's breath during the inspection of his documents. According to the protocol, McClintock refused to undergo the alcohol testing, the source said.
His car was reportedly driven away by his wife,Air Max Hyperfuse, who was in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. |
