Dead Bombers, The
"These guys have been there and back, and deliver the same devil-may-care-attitude of some of the greats- think The Clash meets Social Distortion meets The Stones meets Black Flag."-Backstage Pass Magazine, January 2004
Rooted in the sounds of classic punk, surf, and rockabilly, The Dead Bombers combine varied influences into a sound that is both new and old at the same time. Formed as The Superzeros in 2003 by four long time friends, the band packed their first show beyond capacity merely by word of mouth. The response was overwhelming. In a review of the bands debut, Backstage Pass Magazine called them one of the most original bands to come out of Volusia County in decades. After only a few shows The Superzeros changed their name to The Dead Bombers due to copyright issues.
The Dead Bombers lineup of Dave Botzford's vocals, Geoff Armstrong on bass and vocals, Scott Bauer (formerly of Sony/Relativity Records' Lucy's Fur Coat) on drums, and Ron Sayyah on guitar finished their first three song demo in May 2004. The band's live act has continued to garner attention, including several high profile surf/skate industry video premier tours and being invited to play at The Gravity Games 2004 Qualifier contest in Merrit Island, Florida. The near future for The Dead Bombers includes finishing their first full-length album and winning new fans where it matters- on stage.
