Demented Are Go were turned away by U.S.Immigration officials last week. Hep Cat Records released the band's 6th full-length album, Hellbilly Storm, in the U.S. on March 14, 2006. Marketing and promotions are being handled in-house. Distribution is through Hep Cat and Navarre Corporation.

The band was scheduled to headline in ten tour markets, including two shows at Southern California House of Blues venues. All tour dates were canceled when news arrived that frontman Mark Phillips (aka Spark or Sparky), was turned away by Immigration Officials at LAX last week. Full details were not made available, but the decision was likely based on Phillips' prior criminal record.

Phillips, who founded the band in a squat in London in 1982, has long been known for his crazy stage stunts, reckless behavior and for embodying the Psychobilly persona. From their inception the band were considered first wave Psychobilly cult icons and have always enjoyed a dedicated fan following. They have toured extensively throughout the U.K. and Europe, as well as in Japan and the U.S. Two anecdotes which are most popularly recounted in connection with the band include Sparky's arrest in New Jersey in the early '90s. Since the band was unable to raise $60,000 bail they flew back to England without him and he was forced to sit out his sentence in jail. On one of the first tours to Japan he occasionally appeared for the gigs completely nude.
