Pop punk/punk rock outfit Bloodsport hail from Hull, England, host to an active punk/hardcore music scene. The band members come from the previous acts The Living Daylights, The Departed, With Chaos In Her Wake, and This City Sleeps.
Fans of Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far, and Trash Boat will be thrilled by Bloodsport. They combine sonic urgency and compositional tunefulness for a compelling, yet still melodic sound.
Bloodsport has been releasing a run of singles over the past year after dropping some demos in 2017. This year they deliver a knockout punch with “The In-Between.”
Rebel Noise is stoked to host the premiere of the passionate and driving “The In-Between.” The track comes out via Krod Records.
A heavy bass line starts “The In-Between” off on a foreboding note, and then the hard-charging guitars drive through and an emphatic drum punches lay down the pace. The brightly grinding churn is topped off with vibrantly exclaimed vocals that are at times shadowed with backing harmonies.
The band gives some details about the single, commenting, “A lot of our songs are about self-discovery and this one even more so... “The In-Between” is about constantly striving to be the person other people expect you to be, in this case a peer or a father figure who was absent for most of the influential years of this specific person’s life. In the end you can only be the person you truly wish to be and in this scenario the [protagonist] wishes to not let anyone in and stay on the path of self discovery.”
