I Need That Record! The Death (or Possible Survival) Of The Independent Record Store is a new documentary that is asking the question, "What about the independent music retailer?"
The documentary has received over 15 various awards from places like The Noise Pop Film Festival, Rolling Stone Magazine and was even the featured DVD of this year's Record Store Day.
The film features thought-provoking interviews on the rebirth of the industry by Sonic Youth's guitarist Thurston Moore, Iggy and the Stooges' Mike Watt, Chris Frantz of Talking Heads and even philosopher Noam Chomski, all of which are complete record nerds.
The iconoclastic film will be released July 27th direct to DVD but a few independent film theaters will be hosting the film on their silver screens. To find out a screening near you click here.
