Orange County has long been a hotspot for rising and renowned hardcore punk bands, starting with Adolescents and Uniform Choice, and now with straight edge band DARE.
DARE’s upcoming album Against All Odds will be released on August 20th via Revelation Records.
On the highly personal LP, the band tackle social issues that are plaguing our nation, rooted in the challenges minorities face every day. Songs also dig into the straight edge life and the members’ passion for skate culture.
Lead single “Different Method” is an anthemic number featuring guest vocals from Patrick Miranda (Movements) with lyrics about being straight edge and how it’s not for everyone.
Angel Garcia, vocalist and co-founder of DARE, comments, ““Different Method” is all about our dedication to straight edge and being in your face. It's one of my favorite tracks on the LP. It may not be for everybody but it’s 100% for us. Navigating through life with a different method.”
Garcia is joined by Aaron McQueen (bass) and Anaiah Lei (drums) as DARE. Garcia sums up the band, stating, “We represent the Straight Edge and all the people of color out there. Everything this band is would be nothing without our friends and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.”
