SUSU is the dynamite combination of two rock artists - Liza Colby and Kia Warren, who have each fronted rock bands, Liza Colby Sound and Revel in Dimes, respectively.
Colby and Warren create hybrid music that takes elements from soul music, rock ‘n’ roll, punk, and pop. They tackle personal and political topics with their sharp lyrics, but keep the songs lively and catchy.
As black women in a predominantly white male realm, they strive for equal representation and stand for unity for all musicians – and everyone in general.
Their critically praised debut single, “Let’s Get High,” arrived this April. The pair state, “We kept growing as creative partners and continue to discover the duality in our power of working together.”
SUSU just dropped a pumped-up cover of The Buzzcock’s classic “Ever Fallen In Love” with an accompanying cheekily seductive, retro-‘80s music video. The clip is filled with New Wave movie and commercials nostalgia and other found footage, and interspersed with a passionate performance from SUSU.
