Chicago's Killwave released its latest album, Death by Distortion, on May 5th. The band mixes post-punk with electronic dance that calls to mind such musical luminaries as Joy Division, The Horrors, Gary Numan, and TV on the Radio. The band members bring something all their own to these influences - a hint of darkwave, a dash of Brit pop and, this being Chicago, certainly a smidgen of industrial rock.
The group is made up of George Pinto (vocals), Jim King (guitars & synths), Erik Pedtke (bass), and Bran X (drums).
