The anonymous metalcore act channels synth and djent influence for atmospheric new track

"Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy”

Metalcore act Divine Grave has unveiled a new single. "Grief" brings together a dynamic confluence of heavy influences, from synthwave to djent, as the narrator guides a journey into the human psyche, exploring how we process suffering.

"We are prone to tout our traumas as trophies, masking what needs to be done to truly heal. “Grief” is a process many of us try to escape, but is vital to the process of healing. This spans from the loss of loved ones to stowing away our pain in the back of our minds, never to be dealt with." - DG

Divine Grave's identity may be a mystery, but their thrilling sonic output is plainly unambiguous.

The metalcore project draws on influence from across metal, synthwave and djent, bringing together a heavy and atmospheric soundscape at the collision point of introspective and ethereal.

Spring 2024 saw the release of Divine Grave's debut work, Traumapieces, a candid collection depicting a vivid tapestry of inner turmoil and fear. Both thematically and sonically, the EP evokes a dark and ominous mood board, but Divine Grave tempers this with a mesmerizing production.

Indeed, this juxtaposition can be seen to represent the sparring of Good vs. Evil, with Divine Grave laying down a gauntlet to the listener to confront our demons.

New single "Grief" is a gripping look at an emotion that many try to evade. The expressive metalcore adjacent soundscape is adorned with rich guitars and hypnotic vocals, set against Divine Grave's slick injections of synth. Collectively the set is deftly harnessed to steer the soul stirring track, as we're challenged to face our fears of loss and despair head on.
