Small Leaks Sink Ships is an experimental rock act from Portland, Oregon that uses elements of avant garde music to create its innovative soundscapes. The band members recently released their sophomore album Face Yourself, and Remove Your Sandals after a 7-year hiatus with the stated goal of creating an ‘auditory painting’ with the fall and sweep of their instruments. The quartet consists of Jim Mandel Jr., Judd Hancock, London Van Rooy, and Ryan Garner. Their debut was described as an intricate math-rock album and Face Yourself, and Remove Your Sandals progresses from there, creating songs that are fuller, warmer, and more varied than before.
